Erin joined Sebaly Shillito + Dyer as an associate in August 2010.  Her practice focuses primarily on commercial and business litigation and immigration law.

Erin grew up in Dayton and elected to pursue her undergraduate studies at the University of Dayton.  In 2007, she earned her B.A. in International Studies and French, magna cum laude.  Erin’s passion for the law and its power to positively affect those in need began while at UD, where she served as the president of the pre-law fraternity and as a President’s Emissary.  She supplemented and enhanced her undergraduate experience by traveling and studying abroad in Canada, France, Morocco, and England.  At the end of her undergraduate tenure, the UD Human Rights Committee awarded Erin with the Outstanding Senior Award for outstanding academic performance.

Erin chose to study law at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she received her J.D., magna cum laude, in May 2010.  While attending UC, Erin was the president of the Student Bar Association, the Associate Managing Editor of the Human Rights Quarterly, and the Business Manager of the University of Cincinnati Law Review.  At the end of her third year, Erin was chosen by the faculty at the College of Law to receive the ALI-ABA Scholarship and Leadership Award, given by the College of Law faculty to the student in the graduating class “who best represents a combination of scholarship and leadership, the qualities embodied by the ALI-ABA parent organizations, the American Law Institute and the American Bar Association.”  While in law school, Erin also took advantage of many practical opportunities in order to obtain a great deal and variety of legal experience, including working as an intern for Amnesty International in New York City; as a summer extern at the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati; as an extern for the Honorable Michael Barrett, Judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio; and as an extern for the Ohio Justice and Policy Center.

Erin was admitted to both the Ohio Bar and the Federal Bar for the Southern District of Ohio in 2010.  She is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Dayton Bar Association and is proud to have already had opportunities to work with Dayton’s Volunteer Lawyer’s Project.

Outside of the office, Erin enjoys spending time with her family and friends and loves to travel whenever and wherever possible.  As both a former ballerina and basketball player, Erin’s love of the arts matches her love of sports, and she is thankful that Dayton provides her with opportunities to enjoy both.
